Result of profound modification of Yak-55M, it is the challenger of the Sukhoi line. Still, Yakovlev trademark helping, the Yak-54 can be perfectly handled by an aerobatic beginner. Of sturdy all-metal design, this Yak is traditionally easy and inexpensive to operate. Good news compared with the Yak-52, the 54 has augmented range, thanks to a ferry tank on the right wing, easier access to all systems, usage of back flat parachute and a luggage compartment. Under production at the Saratov plant, several aircraft fly with the National team and private owners in the USA and Western Europe.
